Binned ("the game," "we," "us") is a daily word-sorting game available at playbinned.com. This policy explains what information Binned collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Binned is developed and operated by an individual developer, Josh Adams.

Information We Collect

If you choose to sign in and create a profile, Binned collects:

Account information — your email address (if you sign in with email/password), or your name and email as provided by Google (if you sign in with Google).
Profile information — the username, country, and region/state you choose to enter, and which badge you've selected to display.
Friend connections — your friend code, the list of friends you've added, and any private nicknames you've given them (nicknames are only ever visible to you).
Gameplay data — your daily scores, streaks, which words and categories you've unlocked, and badges you've earned.
Feedback you submit — if you use the in-game feedback form, we collect the text you provide.

You can use parts of Binned without signing in, in which case none of the above is collected — your game state simply won't be saved between visits.

How We Use Your Information

To save your progress and let you pick up where you left off
To operate leaderboards and friend features
To track achievements, streaks, and collections
To respond to feedback or support requests you send us
To improve and maintain the game

What Other Players Can See

Some information is visible to other players by design, since Binned includes social and leaderboard features. This includes your username, country/region, and daily scores on leaderboards, and your username and selected badge to people you've connected with as friends. Any nickname you set for a friend is private and only visible to you.

How Your Information Is Stored

Binned uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Hosting) to operate the game and store data securely. Firebase is Google's cloud infrastructure platform — it processes data on our behalf to run the app, but we do not share your information with Firebase or Google for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Binned does not use advertising networks and does not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. The only outside party involved in handling your data is Firebase, strictly as our infrastructure provider, as described above.

Your Choices

You can update your username, country, region, and displayed badge at any time from your profile. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at [email protected] and we'll process your request.

Children's Privacy

Binned is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
